FINALLY!
Unless something major happens, Taylor's first official single - Just To Feel That Way - from his debut album will finally drop at radio stations all across the country tomorrow.
That sound you hear is thousands of Soul Patrollers celebrating that this feared-would-never-come day has finally come.
For those of you who have been keeping track (and considering the sheer number of posts on this topic, that's most of you), this first single is being released 7 weeks, 6 days after the album was released. That is almost unheard of in the music industry today. Most major labels these days usually release a single several weeks ahead of the album in order to build up suspense and demand for the album.
To say the Soul Patrol has been impatient during this time is an extreme understatement. We had to endure false drop dates, a change in which song would be released as the first single, and an extreme lack of information about what was going on, why was it taking so long, and which studio exec needed to be threatened for this oversight.
While no studio execs were harmed in the making of this single, yet, Taylor may have been. Without a single on the airwaves to support the album, sales plummeted after the first week. The single should help turn that around, but the buzz created from the album release is gone now. While the single should rise to the top of the charts, only time will tell if it will be able to generate the amount of buzz needed to overcome what has already been lost.
