We all knew it was only a matter of time. After all, nothing lasts forever. As much as we might hope it will, we know better. We know that these things need to be thought about ahead of time. But we didn't think about it. Instead, we ignored the signs. We ignored what we knew to be true. We ignored the ever growing elephant in the room.
In other words, we put off until later what we didn't want to think about today.
But later is here, and we have to deal with it now. We can't put it off any longer. We have to face facts.
Taylor Hicks's tour is over with.
I think it's appropriate for us to observe a moment of silence now.

Okay. That's enough of that. We've got to get ready for the next phase of Taylor's career.
What do I mean, you ask? I mean, the end of Taylor's Modern Whomp Tour doesn't mean it's the end of Taylor.
Taylor has already told us that he will be going back into the studio later this year for a new album for next year. And what the next album might sound like has been the topic of many debates among Soul Patrollers. We also know that the DVD release of Whomp at the Warfield, a video of Taylor's Warfield concert performance, is due out in the near future.
And Taylor will still be making appearances over the next few months as well. We already know that he will be meeting people at the Lake Guntersville development in Scottsboro, Alabama on October 27. On November 2, Taylor will be performing at the Pearl River Resort in Philiadelphia, Mississippi. In addition, Taylor will be filming an episode of Jimmy Houston Outdoors in the next few days that will air sometime during the current season. He also has a private performance lined up to help raise money for Greenhill School. And because Alabama loves Taylor so much, he will be receiving an award, and maybe even performing, at next year's Alabama Music Hall of Fame show.
But alas, despite all of that, there is one thing many of you want to know: When will Taylor tour again? While we don't know exactly when he will go back out on tour, we do know that Taylor has mentioned possibly making his next tour an acoustic one. Just think: Taylor + Guitar + Hundreds of screaming fans = another great tour.
So you see? The end of Taylor's tour doesn't mean that there won't be anymore Taylor. He will still be out there.
And, as you already know, those of us here at TheOfficialSoulPatrol.com will be here to bring you all the latest Taylor Hicks information that we can get our grubby little hands on.
