This is it! I'm done...

You read it right, pal. I am SO done.

Well, on rooting and supporting another Idol hopeful that is. Sure, I like Sanjaya Malakar, Blake Lewis and Lakisha Jones right now, but will I be a staunch supporter as I have been to Taylor to these three? The answer would be a resounding no. I am not closing my heart and ears to these three talented people, but giving my all out support, fanaticism (LOL), and excessive "thudding" will only be limited to Taylor. He is just one of the two Idols to come off the show that I vowed to put my full support on; the other one being Katharine McPhee. But since this is a Taylor blog, I'll just be talking about Taylor here.

Never would I have imagined being this invested in a foreign artist. I remember during my teens, I was a big fan of the Spice Girls (cue in Wannabe here) and Irish boy group Boyzone. I remember being late for classes whenever a new magazine with great posters of the Girls is out. But nothing prepared me for this, the Soul Patrol and Taylor himself.

At the end of season five, with all the hoopla that that current season of American Idol being the biggest ever, I decided to learn more about the show, and what better way to know about the show than knowing the contestants who have been in it? I was quite interested as to why Taylor kept on repeating "Soul Patrol" during the show; well I knew that it was his fans, but I guess I was more curious to see who these SP'ers were. So I googled "Taylor Hicks" and one of the sites to immediately pop up was, this, TOSP. I decided to take a look and sign up, heck, I've never been to a fan forum before, so the prospect of joining the site that time was very good.

That time, I only "liked" Taylor, but I really enjoyed his performances on the show. I'm a sucker for those 'underdog" types, and I rooted for him to win over Katharine. I was actually happy he did, considering how he has come so far from performing in small, almost empty clubs and bars. But as I posted more and more on the site, I have come to meet some really awesome people, and some "kababayans" as well-Annie (ane4tay), Ate Claire (webchic00), Careerwmn and others, their dedication and passion for Taylor rubbed off on me. And after downloading his performances of Takin' It to the Streets, Crazy Little Thing Called Love and after hearing his heartwarming rendition of Do I Make You Proud numerous times, I kicked myself in the head, why didn't I realize it earlier? He's awesome!!!

And so I became a staunch supporter of Taylor, defending him on sites where they bash him, voting on polls, and doing almost any thing imaginable to help him be "heard" by the people. I even revived my old blog just so it can be another outlet for Taylor to be heard. And as the months went on, I realized that I can never be able to love any artist more than I love Taylor. He's just one of a kind. He and Katharine represent two great ends of the music spectrum. One is soulful and passionate, the other funky and sassy. I can't imagine supporting any two artists than these two.

So yes, that's pretty much it, from here on, it's just Taylor, Taylor, Taylor. It may take a good while to knock me out of the Soul Patrol train, so don't even try.
