YES it's exciting!!! I don't know if it has been confirmed yet. I just learned about it on here. I would definitely be heading up there, but I've already made reservations for that weekend in Sandestin, FL and won't be coming back until that Sunday. Shux!! I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that it will be on TV though.

I would think, if this is indeed true. (tapping my feet in waiting in anticipation ) that LiMBO would be w/ him. How cool would it be, since Brian Less is from Memphis.

Hey, wmarine...is there anyway you can change the date to 2007 in the title so folks don't get confused by the 2008?

Here are the details as I know them at this time.
There is a gala on Friday night (Dec. 28) at the Peabody Hotel starting at 7:00 pm. Taylor will play for 90 minutes during the dancing and entertainment time. He is the headliner. I don't know if anyone else will be performing. The gala is black tie and tickets are $175 per person.
The game itself is Saturday afternoon, 3:30 pm CST. Tickets are $65 each.
According to the Liberty Bowl brochure for the week-end: "The Bowl's spectacular halftime show honors St. Jude patients each year, sending the St. Jude message to a nation television audience on ESPN." Keep in mind that St. Jude is located in downtown Memphis.
<Admin Note: For more information, call the ticket office at (901) 795-7700, or e-mail tickets@libertybowl.org.>

Just got off the phone w/ the Peabody. The woman confirmed Taylor appearing & said that even though the majority will be in tux, a nice suit for the gentlemen is acceptable for those wondering.

My cousins in Mobile will be glad to know this...Hope I get some word on if BAMA is confirmed or not...I heard they were the choice for the Liberty, I guess they'll wait till after the SEC championship game here in Atlanta this weekend...Hope Danny will hear something and let us know.....Thanks again for posting!!!

Well rats and puppy dog tails!!! I spent all day trying to get back to the left coast from Memphis and here I should've stayed!! The lovely old Peabody is just another one of those historic venues for TH to conquer this year. ("The Skyways", perhaps?) Good luck you lucky people and blow a kiss for us old folks at home.

Heck yeah, I'll be there!!! The Liberty Bowl is right up the street from me-- I could practically walk-- Oh, wait, I HAVE!!!! LOL!!!
Also, some other interesting news about the Gala the night before, Taylor will be receiving a lifetime achievement award there. This is an award started by Danny Thomas (St Jude Children's Research Hospital). The peeps at the Liberty Bowl said that Taylor is the youngest person to receive it but that they thought he deserved it!!! CONGRATULATIONS, TAYLOR!!!!
