Hum, my first impression is, that is odd.

Don't know why the dude would make it up, cause the links seem legit, but something feels weird to me. Good for Tay, I guess...
In googling the place a minute ago, I saw that Elliot performed there last month, so maybe its quite the happenin' scene.
Is it part of an Asian tour? Why hasn't anything been mentioned on official fan site (hello HQ?!). 

Hope he has a blast and has some more shows lined up. Odd to literally fly across the planet for three gigs. At least he'll be warm for Christmas. !

Well, Taylor has been invited to perform on the Asian Idol finale which takes place next week,
so these performances make perfect sense.  Good for him.  It will be great exposure
for him.

Yeah, you'd think HQ would be better at posting news.  They always seem to be behind the fans, though.
By the time they post it, it's already been all over the fan sites.  Don't know why they're so slow.

Ohhhhh, That makes sense then. If he's there anyway, might as well make some bonus bucks and hang for awhile.
I've heard the Philippines are quite a trip. Apocalypse Now was filmed there and except for all the napalm and insane Marlin Brando in a hut, looked like a lovely place.
Sounds like an adventure.

I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to find some way of verifying this, and I haven't been able to. There is nothing on the Ayala Website that indicates Taylor will be playing at the Glorietta mall, and there is no e-mail address that I can find for Ayala Malls, Glorietta Mall, or the owner of the blog that has the information.

If anyone can provide me with any information on this, I'll add it to the calendar.

Actually, this thread is talking about a different performance than the Google Alert you got. They are both in the Phillippines.

Here's another guy who lives in the Phillipines whose wife is a big fan
and is saying Taylor is performing 3 shows at the mall and how excited
his wife is and is hoping to meet him.  So there may be something to this.

SOmewhere in the back of my mind I recall in a radio interview somewhere Taylor mentioned an "international tour next year"--maybe this is what he meant?

i don't know if taylor is performing in the philipines but he'll be rocking at ASIAN IDOL on Dec 16th in jakarta indonesia. my singapore idol season 2, hady mirza will be participating.

Yes! 2006’s American Idol (and no it’s not Chris Daughtry) TAYLOR HICKS is coming to Manila to perform at the Glorietta in Makati from December 18, 19 and 20, 2007!

Now, I rooted for Taylor to win, and I’m a casual fan… but my wife is the uber crazy fan. As in CRAZY. I’ve known her for years and I’ve never known her to obsess about anything or anybody in this way. She has all the albums. Yes, ALBUMS. She has the official release, the official release Walmart edition, the Do You Make Me Proud single, and the independently produced (before Hicks got famous) albums In Your Time and Under the Radar. She even has an Official Taylor Hicks T-Shirt, for God’s sake.

I think it would be really great if my wife would be able to meet Taylor and perhaps have a photo with him and whatnot. That would make her Christmas. That would make her entire year, I think. That would be terrific!

So I’m asking anyone who might be on the inside track of this mini tour, who may be involved in organizing it, or whatever, I would really REALLY appreciate it if you could help me out. I’d be VERY grateful. I’ll give you a drawing. What do you want? Original art from Superman or Batman? Or a custom made drawing? I’ll put you on my permanent complimentary copy list, which will ensure you get copies of everything I do from now on.

And to whoever you are, thanks very VERY much in advance!!

American Artist's usually do very well in those countries. There is a Blues Fest in Germany this coming May. (ya never know who may be there  )

This is all so exciting!  I have no doubt the Phillipines are going to be Taylorized after these three shows. I looked at the vitual tour, and my only question is about where the shows are taking place. Are they in the center of the mall or is there a concert venue within the mall itself?

He is actually going to be performing at three different malls. Each mall has some kind of venue to hold these types of appearances/concerts, but the Websites for these malls are not the easiest to navigate and find information on. Maybe someone who lives near one of these malls can better explain.
