It's time to change the song that plays on TheOfficialSoulPatrol.com, and I've decided that the next song posted will be from Taylor Hicks' first independent CD, In Your Time. But I'm going to let YOU decide which of the 7 songs will be posted. So use the poll above to vote for the In Your Time song you would most like to hear when you visit TheOfficialSoulPatrol.com. This song will also be put into the rotation of songs found on our MySpace page as well. The voting will run for 2 weeks.

I voted for "Somehow" because it's a beautiful song which reflects on Taylor's view of the world and his own personal experiences. He has a deep attachment to this song and I love it. It comes from deep inside his soul and of course he wrote it. To me, anything Taylor writes is awesome and TRUE-VINTAGE TAYLOR.

SOMEHOW and the FALL are great compositions.
In fact, they should be re-recorded in his next album ( the later preferably with an orchestra as background ).
But when it comes to PURE PERFORMANCE, there is no question that Taylor's version of GEORGIA is one for the ages. He himself has never duplicated that recording session in any of the subsequent performances I saw ( not in rehearsals.com and not in any of his subsequent club performances ). The planets and stars were aligned that magic night ( or day ) when he recorded it and the magic has somehow not been duplicated.

Looks like we have a nice battle on our hands. As of this post, The Fall and Somehow each have 7 votes while Georgia has 4 votes.

The Fall is a great song, but everyone seems to have it on their myspace or playing somewhere else. I think Somehow would be different. I love that song.
