I don't watch AI. Watched a season a few years back where some incredibly talented gray haired guy won & have not been Back. Turned it on just in time to see Ms. Jackson sing & then the Joe Cocker number. How did Crystal not win this? I'm sorry but watching that 1 number - she is 100 times stronger and better singer & performer than Lee. Was he just really off tonight? I am happy she made it to number 2 - she has an amazing career ahead of her. (Not winning didn't hurt Daughtry among others.) Just my two cents worth. BTW - totally missed Taylor!!  I think Lee was scared doodyless last night. You could tell from his reaction he had no thought of being the winner. I missed most of it from getting our new air conditioner put in...I came in when Paula did. When all the Idols started singing and Jordan came out after Carrie, my first thought was "Oh man, they dissed Taylor again...but then, there was the Soul Man. Did I miss him, or was David Cook not there? Or Adam Lambert? Or Chris Daughtry? I saw Justin Guarini, Nikki McKibbin, David Archuleta, Allison Iraheta, Jason Castro, Elliott Yamin, Bo Bice...so many of the previous contestants. Lee looked like he was going to puke after they announced his name...everyone expected Crystal but many reports said not to sell Lee's fanbase short...I can't think of anyone who seemed more humbled to win Idol than Lee did last night. I think Crystal will actually be happier in the less demanding position of "runner up," and all you need to do is ask Clay Aiken, Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry...sometimes it's not so bad to not win American Idol. Congratulations to Lee DeWyze, Crystal Bowersox, Casey James, "Big" Mike Lynche, and all of this year's AI finalists... And of course, our regards to Simon Cowell...Idol will truly be lessened without him.  |

Oops forgot some things from last night. Big Mike and Michael Mcdonald: They sing taking it to the streets!!! I thought maybe Taylor would start singing with them. Nope. :( Tatiana Del Toro: Ack!! Janet Jackson: Wow she looks great! I love her hair! She should keep it like that. I'm glad she didn't have a wardrobe malfunction.  Christina Agulara (sp): She is awesome. I love her singing voice. Bret Michaels and Casey: Woah Bret! You shouldn't be here but glad you are.. I so love his eyes. He is so good! And Casey some parts of it were good. Pants on the ground: HAHAHHA LOVE IT! And woah William Hung! YAY! Winners: This is the 3rd person that I like who has won!!! First Taylor.. Then Cookie, now Lee!!!! I'm happy. Next year: Man next year better be better with fantastic contestants!!!! I'm gonna miss Simon. :( |

Congratulations to Lee winning American Idol, I was not surprised that he did. Crystal will undoubtedly have an amazing career ahead of her and in my opinion they are both winners. The finale show was good and it was great to see Taylor along with the other past idols, he looked so happy! Did anyone notice how weak the singers from Chicago sounded, I was glad to hear Lee join in with his strong voice and try and save the song, LOL! It was great to see Paula and she looked stunning in that red dress.....nice send off for Simon and I will miss him.  Too bad Adam Lambert couldn't be there. It will be interesting to see who Simon's replacement will be next season. |

Last night’s Idol finale was the lowest rated in Idol franchise history. But we knew that was coming. At least the final show cracked 20M. Sad.

The season-finale of Fox’s American Idol stood well above the competition on the final night of both the traditional (September to May) TV season and May 2010 sweeps, with 23.15 million viewers and a 7.8 rating/23 share among adults 18-49 and growth in every half-hour as follows:
American Idol (Fox)
8:00 p.m. – Viewers: 18.41 million (#1), A18-49: 6.1/21 (#1)
8:30 p.m. – Viewers: 21.07 million (#1), A18-49: 6.9/22 (#1)
9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 24.30 million (#1), A18-49: 8.2/23 (#1)
9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 28.83 million (#1), A18-49: 10.2/27 (#1)
Compared to the year-ago season-ender (Viewers: 28.84 million; A18-49: 10.0/28 on Wednesday, May 20, 2009), however, this was down by a noticable 5.69 million viewers and 22 percent in the demo. Without Simon Cowell next season, the double-digit bleeding will likely continue.
