I just watched Ellen and I was kind of disapointed as well. I was so excited when I heard that Tay would be on Ellen. I am a huge fan of Ellen as well. I was really looking forward to seeing them dance together. We ought to be happy that he sang "Do I make You Proud" and of course he makes us all proud. I noticed that he changed "my heart is FULL of gratitude" to "my heart is filled with gratitude". I just love seeing him sing that song. He really likes the song I think. At least he was on Ellen without Kat.

Did you notice that Ellen only asked Taylor maybe two questions and they were both about Chris?! Here's an idea - have Taylor's interview be about Taylor.... and if you want to know about Chris, have him on the show! Loved his dance steps during his intro. He sounded great, though you'd think he'd be running on empty by now.

Just my .02. I felt Ellen was beyond rude to Taylor. I've always liked her because I felt she was down to earth. After today, I don't care too much for her. I think she was really hurt when Chris got voted off and maybe wanted to make Taylor pay for it a bit. And I don't know what polls she was looking at but I guess she didn't check out the dialidol spoilers. I'm sure he's heard enough about Chris being the rightful winner(even though he didn't have the votes). I think it threw him off a little and I do think he seemed hurt. He coverd it well and handled it with dignity but I could see he was a bit hurt. I can't blame him. If she would have given him a longer interview and just happened to mention that with other things it may not have been as bad. I kind of think she had an agenda and I hope she can sleep well tonight(acutally I don't, but you know what I mean). As far as emailing her, I don't see anything wrong with that. I agree that emailing every bad review or offhand jokes can be bad. This is what got Clay a bad name(even though I wasn't a fan I felt bad for him because of some of his fans). To me, a review is one persons opinion. A critic is just doing thier job and not everybody is going to like Taylor. Cussing someone out is not going to change a critics mind or get him to be openminded in the future. Offhand jokes are just jokes. It's good to have a sense of humour about who you like. What Ellen did was a bit more disappointing to me. I still wouldn't cuss her out or call her names. I think I would probably point out Taylor has dreams and feelings just like Chris and he deserved better than that. Maybe something to make her think rather than piss her off. All in all , this is one interview I erased from my DVR and wont be watching again. I thought he was treated really good on Leno and the Early Show. Maybe he will be on the View. The ladies on there weren't Chris fans. They liked Tayllor and Elliott. Merideth Viera even said she cried when Taylor was announed the winner and that she was DEf. a member of the Soul Patrol. So I'm sure he'll get a lot of love when he goes on that show

I was disappointed too. I saw him come out dancing...too cool...and I thought she would join in, but she just stood there. I was so looking forward to hearing him play the harmonica when I saw it was out & ready to go, but no such luck. I really felt like she rushed him on & off to get on with the show, and I heard her refer to the other guy as her "first guest". I really hope that's not a slur against Taylor, but just an editing mistake. I myself would like to send them off an email, but I don't want to say anything that would be in any way detremental to him & his career at all. He did look so handsome- those same jeans that I've grown to love, with the faded spot at the right hip because of carrying his wallet around. He was in terrific voice, and even with just a piano backing him up, he gives it his all...he is the consummate performer....I just adore him !!

I am a newbie here. I agree with what some of you are saying about Ellen today. I know she was a huge Chris fan and could not believe that she only asked Taylor about Chris...and then he sang and that was it. It was a big disappointment. Taylor was awesome as always so thats good!! Ya know....things are weird cuz when Taylor was on Larry King.....there was Kat! And yesterday on the morning show concert.....who was there........with Taylor.....Kat!! Kat did not win LOL.....they need to focus totally on Taylor in my opinion!!!

PLEASE
I have not read the whole thread..and yes I would of loved to see Taylor longer today like the rest of you....I did see one post about IF you want to write to Ellen..just say..you are looking forward to a time when Taylor can be back on there...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...do not send any rude emails to Ellen..the ClayMates do this in spades..and Clay has had to pay for it...
let's always be respectful of everyone...it is VERY IMPORTANT
we the Soul Patrol..can be responsible for skyrocketing Taylor's success..and we can also hurt him...

Telling Ellen we wanna see more of Taylor is the way to go! Youre right in saying not to criticize her or complain to her. We need to be positive in any messages to Ellen or any other show. We dont wanna upset anyone.....just wanna see more of our Idol that 2 minutes!!

Here's my take...I was disappointed with Ellen and we all want to see Taylor on longer.. A few things might have happened that caused a mix up...
Remember when a fellow soul patroller went to the Leno show she said Taylor went against the guards wishes and said he'd be late for the Ellen show and he said It won't take long...maybe he was late to her show so she had Vince Vaughn on first...remember she said we'll see Taylor later on in the show...So they must've edited it out cause she wanted Taylor to be first, and maybe there was a time crunch on Taylors part that she just wanted to adhere to and Taylor always has his harmonica with him. I do agree that the subject of Chris was way off base and she might of been a little tict that he was late and since her favorite was Chris...I do know back when the hollywood round was in full force Ellen had Simon on and she said she liked Taylor but of course that was befor Chris. What I am trying to say...badly...is maybe if yoiu email the show take into account there might have been something going on that we don't know about. Just say something like...I enjoyed it when you had Taylor Hicks on your show he is very entertaining but I feel it was a little too short and we Soul Patrollers would like to see more of him. We'd love it if you had him back to saftisfy all his millions of fans... or something like that... Just so we don't give Tay a hard time in the future...we don't want to engratiate ourselves which would turn them off to Taylor..
On that note I just want to go on record in saying I do think Ellen was in away rude (not obviously) she hid it well but we read between the lines... These things sometimes happen and Taylor handled it with grace and dignity and I think we should follow his example...leastwise as far as sending Ellen an email.
Please don't hate me for this post...just trying to keep it real...

Hi, all... Just saw Taylor on Ellen. He just gets better and better and cuter and cuter! Unfortunately, they only had him on the show for a quick 10 minutes or so... he sang "Do I make you proud" and it was amazing! Just love his voice, stage presence - EVERYTHING about him!!! Can't wait until his single comes out on the 13th - and still waiting for Under the Radar to be delivered - and can't wait until his new CD comes out!

I'm so glad that we all agree Taylor's appearance was way too short !!!...Was there even an interview??? I didn't know Ellen was a Chris fan, it all makes sense now...
I also noticed the harmonica in his hand, poor baby, he obviously intended to use it.
Ellen could have allocated more time to Taylor, if they had taken a little time away from Vince!! Very disappointing...
However, Taylor looked great with his jeans, jacket and boots!! I agree with someone that mentioned he looked thinner..... HE NEVER DISAPPOINTS !!

We don't get this show, but I've always liked Ellen for her books and all that. Thought tonight was very dismissive, suprised that if she didn't want to do the interview why didn't she say? Eh? You missed a chance to interview a legend. Remember the bloke who walked out of the Beatles? Exactly.

Yes - there has been way more of Kat and Taylor on TV together than most of us want to see - but I'm sure that will fade pretty soon. Think back - when was the last time you saw Carrie & Bo together? Probably about a year ago! I'm sure the AI" powers that be" are just trying to get as much publicity for Taylor and Kat's singles as possible right now - though Kat's single seems to have already faded into oblivion - all she seems to sing is "Over the Rainbow!"

I reckon this is going to happen from time to time - some people expecting a "Pop" Idol. Didn't quite work out that way this year, wooo. It'll take about a year to get Taylor out of contract and back to what he does so well. Let's all keep the faith!

Good for Taylor! He handled Ellen's obvious disappointment with his usual grace! Her audience certainly showed their enthusiasm for him. I, like the rest of the Soul Patrol have watched and been at times aggravated with the interviews with Kat, and the way some of them have treated Taylor, but I don't think we should send emails or letters to Ellen. Money talks. We need to organize and focus just like we did on Tuesday nights during the competion and make sure we buy his CD and get those orders in. As his career gets into high gear and it becomes apparent that his fan base is growing and is they cannot ignore it... we will see their attitudes changing and everyone will want Taylor on their show.... and they will give him plenty of time to interview. Taylor is very intelligent and funny... as I saw him on Jay Leno. She didn't give him the chance... but I predict one day she will WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!

Loved seeing Taylor again this morning but it was too short The whoos were cute & of course he sounded great. Everyone noticing that he adds a flare somewhere in that song every time he sings it its not exactly the same, thats a true artist when you can improv like that. He's not kidding when he uses the term "Taylorize"! From a winner's prospective though I bet he and previous idols get rather tired of performing that one song, they have to sing it every night on tour too. We all knew Ellen is a Chris fan but dang could she have made that more obvious by asking Taylor mainly about him, she could have had fun with Taylor because as he's shown he's really good off the cuff. O well, thank you Ellen for having Taylor on, the brief segment was cute & I liked Chris too but guess what Taylor won I've been thinking the same thing--that he's probably getting a bit weary of that song, as wonderful a song as it is (and I'm sure he'll have to sing it at all the tour stops to promote the single)--but like you say, he always makes it sound brand new (I love the smile he beamed out the middle of the Today show performance--he looked like he was having such fun!) As for the interview--I was disappointed too. If you want to hear a really good Taylor interview where he actually gets to talk about himself and his music--I've posted a link on the audio board for one that Rolling Stone just put up. Having dial-up, it took me about 20 minutes to download it--but it was worth the wait! Everyone have a great weekend! Cheryl

I wasn't sure if I'd caught a cut version of the show, obviously not. Honestly, this man is just greater than the bubble he's in right now - keep the faith, I can't wait to see how this will develop. It'll be fun. We're in at the start of something huge!
